We made it home! We had trouble with Internet the last few days so the blog posts have been scarce but there has been so much that God has done in everyone!

There will be plenty of pictures and stories still coming on this site, but for now, thank you so much for the prayers and support! Keep them coming, as God is still doing a work in our hearts as well as in the lives and communities that we were able to be a part of!

What’s up! We made it to Mozambique. It took almost a full day of traveling to make it here. We had some problems at the border, but we are all here safe and sound. My 2 favortite quotes from the border would have to be 1. You have to pay us money or leave us one of your girls! …NO!? 2. Yea I’m just pulling you over becuase I want money. Once again – NOPE! Ha

Issac and Carol came over to the hotel for some Dinner. It was very exciting to see them! We cant wait to get to the church and carepoint tomorrow. Tomorrow we are doing a construction project and doing a youth festival. Its going to be great!

Oh and last night we went to the game park – Lions and Tigers and Bears!  No just lions!  And we saw Elephants, Rhinos, hippos, giraffes, impalos, etc. We did almost get knocked over by an Elephant, but luckily out tour guide was in the living mood, and got us out of there quickly! Much excitment! Much Happiness! Much Goodness!

Had an incredible day so far today! Our team started out the day working to prepare for Vacation Bible School at the main Swazi campus and two carepoints.

At the same time Jason, Kerry, JP, Elton, and myself headed over to a local school and got to work with a group of youth pastors from around the region. After a quick word from Jason, we broke up into different workshops to teach and talk with the pastors.

We then ran back to the main campus to help out with the VBS. Such an amazing day. So cool to work along with the Swazi team, their hearts and efforts are so inspiring!

Already looking forward to what is next! Keep us in your prayers!

Last night during our service with the youth I had this incredible moment as I stood in the middle of all the kids during worship at the altar. This amazing concert of voices singing out about the greatness of their God overwhelmed me and all i could think about was the words of Paul the apostle as he wrote of his thankfullness for the privilege of being called to serve:

“12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength to do his work. He considered me trustworthy and appointed me to serve him, 13 even though I used to blaspheme the name of Christ. In my insolence, I persecuted his people. But God had mercy on me because I did it in ignorance and unbelief...” -1 timothy 1:12-13

All day today I couldn’t stop thinking about God just “considering me…” WOW! Like Paul, I know what I used to be and just to be considered to be here in Africa or really anywhere serving Him is completely and utterly amazing! Very thankful to all of you who made this trip possible, especially my wife, HPC family and my Pastor Dino and DeLynn. Love you guys

Had an incredible night tonight! After games and a dance off (featuring our very own Coach Carter), the Swazi team lead us on worship, Kenny, Caroline, and a few from the Life Church Memphis shared testimonies, and then Jason brought the word! Finished the night with a worship set with the EPIC team and the Swazi drummer! Such a cool moment to shout praise to OUR God with family from around the globe.

The entire team has hit the ground running, already laughing and having a blast with the youth here. Such a God thing to be allowed to be here!

Tonight is our first night in swaziland. This place is amazing! Everything from the city, to the campus, to the kids here, everything is amazing! Tonight we are haveing games for the kids, a dance-off, service followed by a concert. I’m so excited to see what God is going to do and I’m so blessed that He would even consider me to come here and be with these people. I will never forget this.

We made it! After many hours on the plane, a night in Jo’Burg, few hours in the vans and a few trips through customs, we finally made it!

The team is going strong, avoiding jetlag (mostly), and everyone is excited to be here. Your prayers for the team are so evident with all the problems that have been avoided, thank you so much!

Right now we are at HPC_Swaziland about to have youth night, and we are pumped! The Swazi band is going to lead worship, going to have Jason Laird and a few HPC people share, a drama or two, and then the EPIC worship extension team is going to close out the night!

Keep the prayers coming and we’ll have more updates as the Internet situation permits :)
